Zero Conditional
The Zero Conditional is used to talk about general facts, scientific truths, habits, or situations that always happen when a condition is met.
Structure:
If + sujeto + verbo en presente simple, sujeto + verbo en presente simple
Examples:
* If you heat water, it boils.
* If it rains, the grass gets wet.
* If plants don’t get water, they die.
Characteristics
*Both clauses use the simple present tense.
*It expresses situations that are always true.
*The order of the clauses can be changed without changing the meaning.
*Sometimes if can be replaced by when.
Main uses
1. Scientific truths:
*If water reaches 100°C, it boils.
2. General facts:
*If you don’t eat, you get hungry.
3. Habits:
*If I have time, I read a book.
4. Instructions:
*If you need help, call me.
